a life celebrated

IN THE SPIRIT OF THE HOLIDAYS
Often times, the guardian company serving clients at a senior residence is overworked and underfunded. Clients who have little money and no family are served by a system that doesn't allow for a lot of celebration.
A guardian company at a local senior residence embraced the spirit of A Life Celebrated, however, and created a meaningful celebration for its clients.
Serving about 12 clients, the guardian company worked with the client's caregivers to develop a list of wishes for each client. Then they took a large laundry basket for each resident and filled it with their specific wishes. They provided items like new robes, pajamas, toiletries, blankets - and even purchased larger ticket items like televisions!
The guardian company paid to have the chapel decorated for Christmas and had lunch catered in. They even asked how they could help the senior residence and provided some of those wishes as well.
"It was unexpected. It made every resident cry," said a care giver at the residence. "It brought me to tears, too."
