A Life Celebrated volunteers at a local senior residence provided a Holiday Celebration that spread warmth and cheer to all its residents.
The evening started with beautiful Christmas Carols played on the piano by Glad Evans. Now in her 80's, Glad was a music major from Illinois University and donated her time as the church organist for a church in Romeo, Michigan. Glad was happy to share her talent with the residents.
Two caregivers, Angela Stewart and A Life Celebrated co-founderTraci Rusk, sang a duet of Amazing Grace, and then Angela sang The Christmas Song and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas solo.
In addition to a scrumptious buffet and holiday spirits provided by families and loved ones of the residents, residents were each presented with a fragrant red corsage.
"Lemon Squeeze" arrived with his accordian and treated guests to snappy tunes. He had heard about the holiday celebration through a connection at Optimal Healthcare and donated his services that evening. Many of the residents sang along and a few even danced.
The final performers of the evening were the St. Edith's choir. They sang old favorites and jolly songs and ended by taking requests.
